About the Club

In 1964, a small group of approximately twenty people truly interested in promoting the art of figure skating organized the Southern New Hampshire Skating Club. Adopting the J.F.K. Coliseum in Manchester as their home base, the club became a member of the United States Figure Skating Association, the governing body that prescribes the rules and standards for member clubs nationwide.

By the late 1970's, skating could not escape the clutches of the recession. Many area arenas were forced to close their doors but the Southern New Hampshire Skating Club, led by a spirited group of skaters, persevered, determined to maintain the tradition of their sport and organization. That determination paid off as the SNHSC now has a member base of over 300.

SNHSC remains dedicated to its roots and maintains its home club at the JFK Coliseum in Manchester. SNHSC also continues to give back to its community by providing area youth scholarships in its Learn to Skate program each year.
