The SNHSC Board of Directors is taking skater/volunteer/coach/participant health and safety very seriously. We have been working closely with state and local officials during these very difficult times to ensure all can return to the ice in the safest possible manner.
We appreciate your efforts, empathize with your frustrations, and appreciate your understanding and cooperation. We remain hopeful that we’ll all share joyful moments together on the ice in the upcoming weeks and months!
Restart Dates:
- To allow time for all to get the appropriate testing, SNHSC programs will now resume on Monday, November 2, 2020. Please note: We will not have ice on Friday, October 30 or Sunday, November 1
- The City of Manchester will resume public skating activities on 10/31/20.
- ***NOTE *** As of 10/27/20, the City is now requiring anyone taking the ice for public skating to present proof of a negative test result before being allowed to skate. All must wear masks at all times in the rink, including while skating.
Testing Requirements:
- Before returning to the rink, all coaches, skaters, staff and volunteers must be COVID-tested and have written documentation proving a negative test result. All COVID-19 tests must be administered AFTER October 15 and BEFORE November 6, 2020.
- Here are links to COVID-19 testing sites in the state of NH:
- A person is exempt if they have previously tested positive for COVID-19 in the three months prior to October 15 with a virus-specific test used to diagnose active infection (PCR or antigen based test)
- Players/Participants/Coaches CAN enter the ice arenas between October 30 and November 6, 2020 without providing negative COVID-19 test results. After November 6, they must provide a negative COVID test result to enter the arena.
- If you are having difficulty finding a testing facility able to test athletes for free, skaters have had success at the Walgreens on Valley Street in Manchester
First Time Re-entering the Rink:
- Everyone (skaters, coaches, volunteer and staff) will check in with the ice proctor upon arrival and present a test document stating their name, the date of their test and that the test was negative. (Note: You may ‘white out’ additional personal information - address/insurance #, etc. - that appears on the test document if you so choose.)
- After presenting your negative test results, you will be checked in and allowed to skate or watch. You will need to hold on to your personal test results through December 7, per the Governor’s mandate. SNHSC will NOT retain copies of results.
After Initial Return to the Rink:
- Skaters, parents, coaches, spectators and volunteers who enter the rink after their initial return, will need to answer the requisite COVID-19 screening questions and have a temperature check, per the City of Manchester. Both will take place at the door with the session proctor.
- Continue to follow all social distancing and mask-wearing protocols at all times.
Masks, Distancing and Spectators:
- Every person in the rink or on the ice for SNHSC programs MUST wear a mask AND maintain at least 6 feet of social distance at all times.
- Skaters and coaches are required to wear a mask covering their nose and mouth at all times while on the ice.
- Only ONE spectator per skater will be allowed in the rink.
Learn to Skate:
- Learn to Skate programming will be delayed by one week and will resume on Sunday, November 8, 2020.
- All skaters in our LTS program must also show proof of a negative test result between October 15 and November 6, 2020, to return to our LTS classes.
- All guidelines above also apply to skaters and parents in our LTS program, including wearing a mask while on and off the ice, maintaining social distancing, screening checks, etc. Please plan to arrive at the rink 10 minutes before your skater takes the ice.
