A little history of the club
In 1964, a small group of people truly interested in promoting the art of figure skating organized the Southern NH Skating Club. Adopting the JFK Coliseum in Manchester as their home base, the club became a member of United States Figure Skating (and continues to be today!), the governing body that sets the rules and standards for member clubs across the country.
Despite times of economic difficulties over the last nearly 50 years, the club has persevered, determined to maintain the tradition of the sport and the organization. The SNHSC is dedicated to its roots and maintains its home at the JFK Coliseum. The club shares the love of the sport with people who have financial difficulties by offering youth scholarships in its Learn to Skate program every year. We have established several scholarship funds, including the Cystic Fibrosis Fund, the Ida DeThomasis Scholarship Fund, and the Claire M. Lajoie Scholarship Fund.
