Updated January 2021
Thank you for your cooperation! We want to ensure the safety of all and continue to work toward creating a safe, friendly environment for all!
- REGISTRATION for Ice & Programs
- Skaters must register and pay online using EntryEeze. Skaters can pre-register until 11:50 pm of the previous day for ice the following day.
- NO IN-PERSON WALK-ONS WILL BE ALLOWED. All skaters AND coaches MUST pre-register/pre-pay to skate.
- Sessions can be booked “a la carte”; you can simply book the days/weeks you want. We hope this flexibility will help when making your decision to return to the ice.
- Ice can be booked in blocks, with the length of the block depending on the day the session is offered. If your skater wants more time, you'll book the appropriate number of blocks.
- There are a limited number of spots available for each session: the cap is 24 total participants - 16 skaters and 8 coaches.
- ** SKATERS COMING TO OUR ICE FOR THE FIRST TIME SINCE OCTOBER
- All skaters returning to the rink for the first time after the mandatory shutdown in October must show proof of a negative COVID test in the ten days prior to their return. This applies to skaters wishing to contract ice, those walking on our ice for the first time since October, and those in our LTS programs.
- GUEST COACHES
- Every guest coach must adhere to all SNHSC policies and procedures herein, as well as our standard club rules.
- Guest coaches are not allowed to walk on our ice; they must register for and pay for each session they wish to teach on in advance.
- Guest coaches may not teach on any session they haven't pre-registered and pre-paid for. They may not teach a skater from the boards or any off-ice location on our freestyle, dance, or any other session unless they are pre-registered and pre-paid for the session. Unfortunately, there can no longer be any exceptions to this rule.
- Guest coaches joining us for the first time since October (those who did not teach on any SNHSC ice from October, 2020 - January 2021) must show proof of a negative COVID test within 10 days prior to their return.
- All guest coaches must present a copy of their USFS Compliance Card (found on USFS website under "members only"), indicating that the coach has liability insurance, had a background check, is registered with USFS, has taken the CERs and has passed SafeSport. Please submit your documentation no later than 1/22/21 to get on the ice for any session 1/24/21 or beyond. Thanks for your cooperation.
- ENTERING/EXITING THE RINK
- All skaters and coaches will enter the JFK on the Beech St. side and proceed EITHER through the table checkpoint to have their temperatures taken and answer the COVID screening questions or walk to the Maple St. side to do so via the electronic kiosk ("Alice"). The link to the screening questions is: jfk.icovidscreen.com/visitor
- You can log in prior to coming to the rink at this address, answer the screening questions, then continue to have your temperature taken at the kiosk. If someone is at the table and you prefer to do so, you may have your screening/temp check done there upon entering.
- We ask that all skaters follow the prescribed traffic pattern at the rink - marked with both signage and arrows.
- We ask that all skaters, spectators, and coaches sit/stand a minimum of six feet from each other at all times, including while putting on their skates, watching their skaters, teaching their students, or otherwise engaging at the rinks.
- Skaters should return to the bleachers if they need to re-tie skates during a session.
- PARENTS and SPECTATORS
- Only one parent per skater allowed in the rink.
- Friends and other spectators are not allowed in the rink for any SNHSC sessions at this time.
- Parents are strongly encouraged to wait outside in their cars if possible.
- If parents choose to stay in the rink, they MUST socially distance at least six feet and follow all designated seating rules.
- Parents are not allowed to gather while in the rink for SNHSC sessions. No more than one person per each 6-foot distanced area in the bleachers!
- Please do not gather to socialize at the registration table.
- Parents MUST wear a mask over their nose and mouth while in the rink.
- Please do not bring food into the building. Eating requires you to remove your mask, which is against current JFK Coliseum policies. You are welcomed to eat in your car or in the parking lot if you're bringing food to the rink.
- PERSONAL ITEMS
- All skaters and coaches should have a small plastic basket or container (check the Dollar Store), labeled with their name, to put on the boards and keep any personal items (tissues, masks, guards, water bottles, gloves, hand sanitizer, inhalers, notebooks, etc.) organized and distanced from others while on the ice. Be sure to clearly label your water bottles with your name J
- Bring a small Ziplock bag and keep it in your basket; use it to dispose of your used tissues, then dispose of the entire bag at the end of the session.
- Please remember to sanitize your container and personal items before and after your time at the rink.
- Please minimize the number of items you take onto the ice. Less is best!
- MASKS
- Skaters, coaches, and spectators must wear a mask at all times over their nose and mouth - on and of the ice - while in the building. This includes before skating, while on the ice, and after skating.
- MUSIC
- All music MUST be sent to our ice monitor electronically. No music will be played via CD or from personal phones.
- Please send all NEW program music (music that you have not previously submitted electronically) to ken@jandksales.com, attn: Ken.
- GENERAL RULES
- Please do not gather around the music box. Make requests from a distance and then continue to distance for everyone's safety.
- If you have questions or concerns about any of the ice rules, kindly address them to the ice monitor (Ken Lajoie), the club president (Teri Nordle) or via email at snhsc@yahoo.com.
- ON-ICE BEHAVIOR FOR SKATERS AND COACHES
- KEEP MOVING! Neither skaters nor coaches are allowed to sit on the boards!
- Skaters should spread out, use common sense and follow social distancing rules at all times.
- No gathering to talk or socialize! Skater safety is our number one priority!
- Coaches should use creative coaching techniques to eliminate contact with their students and to maintain social distance.
- If a skater needs to sit for some reason (injury, breathing issue, etc.) there will be a designated bench area for them to do so. The ice monitor will direct skaters to that area.
- There is a one-way ‘on’ door and a one-way ‘off’ door.
- PER STATE and CDC GUIDELINES, PLEASE STAY HOME IF YOU HAVE ANY OF THESE SYMPTOMS:
- Fever or chills
- Cough
- Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
- Fatigue
- Muscle or body aches
- Headache
- New loss of taste or smell
- Sore throat
- Congestion or runny nose
